PP Easy Instant Pot Cabbage

Chef: Shane Martin, Shane and Simple

Makes: 6-8 Servings

Prep Time: 5 min

Cook Time: 10 min

Total Time: 15 min (Not including Instant Pot “Come to Pressure Time” or “Release Time”)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 head of green cabbage, roughly chopped

  • 1 onion, diced

  • 2 c low-sodium vegetable broth

  • 1 T oregano

  • ½ t thyme

  • Salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set your Instant Pot to sauté and let it completely heat up. Cook the onions with 1 T of vegetable broth for about 2-3 in. Then, add the oregano and thyme and cook for about 1 min.

  2. Change the Close the lid and turn the venting knob to the sealing position. Now, cook on high pressure for 5 min.

  3. Once the cabbage is finished cooking, allow the pressure to release naturally or simply do a quick release.

  4. Remove the lid, season with salt and pepper, stir, and serve.

TIP

  1. Allowing the Instant Pot to naturally release its pressure will allow the cabbage to marinate longer with the spices and add more flavor.
