Dr. Pam Popper is a naturopath, an internationally recognized expert on nutrition, medicine and health, and the Executive Director of Wellness Forum Health. Akua Woolbright, PhD, Nutrition Program Director, Whole Cities Foundation
Dr. Akua Woolbright is an expert in teaching people how to use plant-based foods to help prevent and reverse disease, and that is the passion she brings to her work.
Dr. Woolbright joined the Whole Foods Market corporate offices in Austin, TX in 2009 where she helped to create and implement the company’s national healthy eating program.
Jamie Qualls is a 4th year medical student, graduating in May 2017 with a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Public Health Degree from Michigan State University. She will start her Family Medicine residency training this summer in the St. John Providence Hospital System.
Adene Keller is a board certified registered nurse who has been in practice for nearly 30 years, mostly in the cardiac department. Currently she works in cardiopulmonary rehab, educating patients on healthy lifestyle changes and exercise. In 2009 she read Dr. Esselstyn's book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, and as a cardiac nurse, felt she needed not only to read about this diet, but follow the diet in order to accurately teach it. In 2010 she started the Canton Project: a Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition Support Group along with cardiologist Dr. Terry Tegtmeier. She has attended Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn's 5 hour class and completed a Plant Based Nutrition certification from eCornell.
Dr. Williams, started eating a vegan diet in March of 2003. A heart patient with very high-risk findings in inspired him to try a plant-based diet. The patient initially had a heart condition that was a severe, three-vessel disease pattern of reversible ischemia. She came back to him several months later after she'd been following Dr. Dean Ornish's Program for Reversing Heart Disease. This includes a plant-based diet, exercise, and meditation. She told him her chest pain had resolved in about six weeks on the program. Her heart scan had also become essentially normal.
Rip left his job as a firefighter in 2009 to team up with Whole Foods Market as one of their Healthy Eating Partners to raise awareness for Whole Foods employees, customers and communities about the benefits of eating a plant-strong diet. As the founder of Engine 2, Rip develops and implements a range of programs and events geared toward education, inspiring and nurturing plant-strong living for individuals, families and organizations across the globe.

Dr. Garth Davis, MD is author of the bestselling book, The Expert’s Guide to Weight Loss Surgery, and Proteinaholic, and co-star of Houston’s BIG MEDICINE television series. Dr. Davis graduated top 10% of is class at the Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, and did his surgical residency right here at the University of Michigan.
Although Dr. Davis is nationally-known as a bariatric surgeon, he now advocates the use of the plant based diet against obesity, and to help people achieve optimal health and weight management.
